heey the fire part was really funny , because i got one and is so true
Yes, the performance might be great, but it must consume a hell of electricity. Dell laptops don’t have Energy Star.
Do you think Dell would replace the leather? These machines cost a shit load, and if the leather is going to become shit after a month then you think that they would replace it, or not?
nice video hey you sure you take really good care of it!! the leather part!! you have the laptop upside down without no protection on it..it scratches easy because its glossy good vid though
Great review productfeedback
I was wondering how much does the battery last (internet use/gaming). Also how heavy is this notebook and is this a problem for you?
very good review!!!
design is good, but the build quality is not as good as you might expect
Is this notebook overall worth it? no problems? and did you order yours online? or in store?. One more thing is the system reliable for years etc.?
Good review really helped me
Windows 7 is awesome thanks for asking.
When leather wears off = dell support. :O
Heat? What processor you get?
I wanted the Mac Book Pro, if you want something similar try the HP Envy line depending on how much you want to spend. However this is great for graphic designers (my previous business) but make sure to get the i7 Processor and RGB LED screen.
How does this compare with the Mac book Pro? I am a graphics professional and am looking for a more affordable option.
i got mine less than a week ago, havent got any problems like the dvd driver, but dell studio 15 as i had before has got big problems with dvd driver and it goes automatically and you cant use any of the buttons for media things
@SlyNine actually, after looking in to it further. I retract what I said.
It seems the issue is most certainly due to the AC power supply, Also the crashes many have had ( as I assumed would happen if you had a power drop) are also prevelent but doesn’t seem wide spread.
I sure hope Dell fixes this because I wan’t one very bad.
What are you going to do once the leather wears off. Its going to look pretty stupid with the leather hanging off. How is windows 7?
@hbrown108 I think that has to do with the 1645 and the Core I7s turbo boost, The multiplier stays at 7-8 instead of 12 ( or whatever its supposed to be).
I think it’s probably a BIOS issue. If the power fell off to border line limits the throttle probably wouldn’t have a chance to kick in and the system would crash ( throttling takes a couple cycles or more, a power drop would be instant and cause a crash)
Great review I like your honesty about the leather and I was wondering how the sound was in the system, I’ve read/watched a few reviews that say the sub-woofer on the bottom is kind of a gimmic.
Have you tried the laptop with a cooler?
@dan185z the laptop doesn’t make use fo a secondary numpad so no it doesnt have the num lock feature.
Hi – There is alot of talk on message boards about the 90W AC Adapter being insufficient for this laptop. People have complained about throttling issues and they seem to think the 90W cannot properly power the computer, and that a 130W would make more sense. Have you experienced anything similar?
I read a review that said the keyboard does not feature num lock button is that true?
Hi, i am unaware of new models being released anytime soon by dell. The accent i have is Australia mixed with Bosnian (Eastern Europe).
I can’t seem to decide what accent you have? Are you New zealand or Australian or both? Anyways good reveiw I’m trying to get this laptop but I’ve been have trouble saving haha. Any news if Dell will bring a new line of the Dell Studio XPS next year?
I regret not being able to get the RGB screen. It just wasn’t in the budget for me.
why dont u review dell studio xps 1340…
